The agreements vary in topic from taxation and immigration to agriculture. The agreements were signed by Zambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Stanley Kakubo and his Rwandan counterpart Vincent Biruta, and seen by Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame and his Zambian counterpart Hakainde Hichilema, in Southern Zambia. Zambia and Rwanda support eachothers economies through trade, with trade value between the two countries over 20 million.

Analysis- This is interesting and somewhat surprising because of the incident two years ago where Rwanda accused Zambia of supporting rebel groups, which Zambia denied. Both presidents have stated the source being unreliable since then. I am glad to see these countries working together to help support each others economies and such.

This relates to IR because it is very important to analyze relations between countries including their future and past to better understand their decisions and ties. International relations includes the relations between countries even if they are not major world powers, because oftentimes major world powers are heavily involved in these countries as is the case for sub saharan Africa and China acting as a provider of support and influence.

Link – https://allafrica.com/stories/202204050347.html Summary- Rwanda and Zambia have signed seven pacts so far to deepen relations and bolster bilateral ties.
