Brazil’s Uncertain Future

Brazil’s ex-President Temer is undergoing investigation of nuclear plant bribes. He has denied the accusations including his colleagues pictures carrying out money of the bribers business. I find this almost silly that the government can not be cracked down on over something so serious as this economically and environmentally.

I read another article on Brazil’s forestry industry and more importantly environmental issue. The registry contains about 95% of farmers that can be tracked and fined if illegal deforestation occurs. The CAR says they cannot have everyone registered by the end of the year, but about 98% can be. Bolsonaro disagrees with this and in effort to deny the detrimental environmental effects he moved the forestry program from the environmental agency to the agricultural agency. I find this extremely sad and terrifying that the President of the nation that holds the world’s largest rainforest that provides so much of our worlds oxygen.

Another article I read once again another negative look on President Bolsonaro. Brazil is trying to pass pension acts and Bolsonaro is fighting it with trying to increase the minimum age of retirement, and other things like this because I am assuming he wants to help boost the economy by just gathering as much money as he can.

My final article was about how Amazon.com has been trying to get rights of the name from the forest for a long time, and Brazil and other neighboring countries of the forest want web domain rights. I find this very interesting as an economic interest, a name of a rainforest worth so much money!
