He is a member of the Social-Liberal Party. During the elections a major part of his campaign and popularity came from his promise to better the Brazilian economy. Part of these changes will come from a reform program Paulo Guedes, Bolsonaro’s economic advisor proposed. Under the reform program they will work on a tax that minimizes the role of states power in government. With big changes comes opposition from agribusiness and military. Agribusiness in Brazil is very important to the economy, bringing in 27% f the GDP and that number continues to grow. Opposition from a major factor of the economy can be detrimental to a politicians agenda. Also, the financial market is skeptical about his changes to the economy. People are concerned that it will be the opposite and harm the economy and the lives of brazilian citizens. I believe this is very confident for a new politician to propose these major reforms to economy. I think there will be a lot of people who turn against him because he won’t listen to the people or important factors to the economy such as agribusiness who believes this will be bad for their economy. Something similar to this happened when the 2017 elections were occuring. There was a major uproar when Donald Trump wanted to put up a wall and decline immigrants. That made the United States look exclusive on an international level. And just like what happened in America will happen in Brazil where congress will not let bills pass that are not beneficial to the people, and in Brazil’s case, economy. I believe the two opposing groups should meet in the middle with a more open economy but attend to the needs of Brazilian citizens that is affected by the economy everyday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
In a recent Brazilian presidential election, Bolsonaro won with 55.5% of votes.
