China’s Xinjiang TBEA Group Co Ltd will hold a 49 percent stake in a planned joint venture with Bolivia’s state lithium company YLB. The companies will seek to produce lithium and other materials from the Coipasa and Pastos Grandes salt flats.

In my opinion on the matter of this trade deal is that economically there is nothing wrong how in regards to the environment it has massive potential to go wrong. Bolivia has every right to exploit and use its resources as it wishes. A small South American country that Bolivia is it can only do so much lithium mining before the local/native people start fighting back and saying its destroying the environment. So there would be no fear if Bolivia soloed this mining expedition. However when they released that China would have a stake in this mining venture the fear of pollution and destruction of the environment shot up tenfold. The Chinese may only hold a less than simple majority in the venture but they can still cause havoc and reckoning. The Chinese have polluted and destroyed their own homeland, what would happen if they went to go exploit the natural resources of another. It would be nothing but torn apart land that once had so much beauty. Therefore I believe the UN should step in or most definitely the United States before the Bolivia is turned into an industrial mess and left to rot.

Chinese decided to partner with the south american country of Bolivia for their large supply of Lithium…or maybe perhaps Bolivia chose a Chinese consortium to be its strategic partner on new $2.3 billion lithium projects, the government said on Wednesday, giving China a potential foothold in the country’s huge untapped reserves of the prized electric battery metal.China’s Liu Jianfeng of… Read more »

[3

post-3344","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-analysis
["GET
