Around 20 cm of rain have been recorded from the most previous storm. In the city of Resistencia there has been roughly 110 cm of rain already this year, compared to the total 137 cm from last year alone. Obviously there has been an increase of the downpour since the previous year and some experts are blaming the El Nino occuring within the Pacific Ocean. An El Nino is the warming of the surface waters on the ocean which progresses evaporation and then precipitation further down the cycle.

Experts say that the El Nino can last through summer of 2019 and last all the way until autumn. This long lasting El Nino means there will be excessive flooding within Argentina which will potentially increase the deaths that are already happening. Seeing the spike in ocean temperatures is all the more concerning about the global warming issue at hand. Experts have said that if nothing is done within the next 12 years, the global effects will be irreversible. Watching people blindly waste valuable resources and misuse plastics, only makes the job to be done become even harder than it used to be. Some people don’t even believe in global warming making the situation even more difficult to fix.

It’s very difficult to resolve this issue if the world doesn’t work together, especially while most countries just dump all their trash into the oceans and make it the fish’s problem instead of the humans’. Being raised while this problem has been happening, I have been born into this trash world which makes this my generation’s future problem to fix instead of those who actually created the problem. Many things have been done to help with this global issue: such as cleaner air is being put out from factories, as well as research is being done on chemicals before they are mass produced and used everywhere.

Rains have been pouring down on northern Argentina, causing floods and widespread power outages within certain towns that are closer to water sources.
