I read multiple articles this regional report that discussed the relationship between the United States and Mexico. One discussed that due to the immigration issue that lingers on year after year, there has now built up to be a trade issue between Mexico and the United States. This is not surprising due to the history between these two states and how they interact, but what is surprising is how much oil the United States buys from Mexico, and that they may risk that over the immigration issues. Another article I read discussed the also occurring issue of armed forces at the border. Both countries, the United States and Mexico, have armed disputes waiting to happen at the border between their armed forces. A shocking article talked about how the Murphy Oil is attempting to buy the Gulf of Mexico’s oil supply. I find this sad that the Gulf of Mexico is so known for its oil because of the environmental detrimental effects and along with the history of the Gulf of Mexico’s oil spill. Tying into environmental effects, I also read another article about the environmental effects on poor countries such as those in South America. Some of these problems include deforestation, which is a very huge issue in Brazil. The article was titled “Climate change, the enemy of poor nations.” This is the enemy because poor states do not have the economic support and power to improve sad environmental issues, and in many cases the poor countries cause the environmental damage, like in Brazil, they cut the trees for the cattle land in order to make money for their failing economy, and there are also wells in the amazon rainforest that are a top priority over the forest in order to save their economy. This is all very sad because of the environmental effects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
