The Supreme Court has announced signing off on allowing the Trump administration to use an 18th century wartime law to deport Venezuelan migrants after having a hearing from a U.S. judge. This is very divided decision within the court, the Venezuelans who are claimed to be gang members must receive a “reasonable time” to go to court. Trump has also invoked the the Alien Enemies Act, which hasn’t been used since World War 2. This was used to justify deportations under a presidential proclamation calling the Tren de Argue gang. There is much discussion for where these trials can take place. Some believe they should happen in Washington, whereas others think they should take place in Texas. Justice Sonia Sotomayor has come out and said that this will now make challenging deportations individually harder. It has also came out that people who have wrongfully deported to El Salvador cannot come back. There is also tension with Trump trying to pass legislation that stops American-born children of parents who are in the U.S. illegally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This honestly is is a confusing situation, there is so much divide. There is just growing tension since Trump’s election. His actions do follow what had planned but I don’t think the American public knew how truly scary it would look like. The U.S. looks like it I slowly making it harder for anyone to enter or stake claim to being an American. Venezuela and El Salvador are holding these people where they are. The U.S. isn’t allowing really any leniency. People are becoming stuck abroad with nothing even if they are wrongful distended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
