While China is a communist country, I don’t see them having an indefinite leader. Xi does in fact want to be a lifetime leader, but eventually I would see him stepping down instead of staying leader until he died. I say this only because he has gotten this far in his ruling as a leader with a numbered term and not indefinite, so this being said, I feel that he will step down as a leader and not continue. This also, in my opinion, would cause turmoil in China because after a term a new leader is assumed. Hong Kong must not take this well at all because they are a democratic nation within China. HK must think that China needs to become democratic now more than ever due to this decision by Xi. As Xi prepares for his indefinite role as ruler, does this mean China is attempting to become a dynasty once more? Does China want to copy North Korea in their communist country?
