China in the Maritime Realm

No Comments on China in the Maritime Realm

Chinese President Xi Jinping has been pushing the East Asian realm closer and closer to the United States controlled Maritime Realm since he took office, now that he has declared himself President of China for life, the United States will have to worry about East Asian penetration of The Maritime Realm until he either dies or steps down from office. The term Xiplomacy has been used to describe Xi’s foreign affairs. He has on many occasions taken trips around the world, heavily focused on western countries. Many of China’s current alliances are with countries that The United States does not favor or countries that we favor very much. It seems like Xi is attempting to poke President Donald Trump into some sort of action. As the bitter trade war continues it is difficult to see a possible peaceful solution. One of Xi’s closest friends and allies is Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump has deep rooted issues with Putin and his practices. Xi awarded Putin the first ever Chinese Medal Of Friendship. This was a sign of extreme cooperation between China and Russia. China has encroached on the doorstep of The United States. Xi created the China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) as a way to get into western hemisphere affairs. They have had talks about the belt and road initiative which would be a way to physically recreate the former silk road of ancient times. Xi stated that his trip was to discuss the building of such road with Latin American countries in the hope that they could be connected in the initiative. In reality, there is no possible way that Latin America could be physically or economically tied to China’s hope of creating a road around Asia.
