Five soldiers and and three members of a terrorist group that is known to be linked to the Islamic State were killed this past Saturday in a firefight on the southern Philippine island of Jolo, just six days after a church bombing took place, also linked to the group, which left 22 dead.
The known leader of this group is Abu Sayyaf, a terrorist leader known for some of the worst terrorist attacks and he is known to have ties with the Islamic State, which then leads officials to believe that these attacks led by him are part of the effort of the Islamic state as well.
In my opinion, right now there is no stopping the Islamic State as seeing how ruthless and relentless they are unless the leading global powers are willing to use more force to both slow them down and slowly rid them from the Middle East and Asia. The only times that the Islamic State has slowed down or stopped their aggression is when far more aggressive tactics have been used against them, which i believe is the only way to defeat them because if we let them believe that there is an agreement that can be reached, then they will set the agreement at something unreasonable and continue their actions as they are until those agreements are fulfilled.
The Islamic State will continue down this path and will keep putting fear into people all across the Middle East shatter belt and the Asian realm until they are met by a force with a matching tenacity that is willing to fight them until they are defeated. I believe that China should begin talks with Russia and the United States in order for the Islamic State to be met by the three strongest world powers, striking fear and hopelessness in them, which then will force them to give up or they will be defeated on every inch of land throughout the Middle East until they surrender.
