In Japan they launched a spacecraft and it successfully landed on an asteroid. This probe was launched three and a half years ago and finally landed on the asteroid on February 21st. The probe landed on the asteroid known as Ryugu with a goal of collecting a sample of rock from the asteroids surface. The spacecraft was successful in landing on the asteroid and is now on its long journey back to Earth. This article is a perfect representation of the transition of a unipolar/hegemonic system of power to a multi-polar. This is seen as more and more countries become increasingly advanced, like Japan and their space probe launch onto an asteroid. This is proof of the rise of countries which may join the U.S. as the most powerful countries in the world.

In China, there is still the major trade war going on with the U.S. However, very recently on February 24th, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. and China “are going to have a signing summit.” This came after he decided to delay further tariffs on more Chinese imports. He also said that there has been tremendous progress in the trade talks since the summit in Washington a week ago. Originally, “The rise in import duties on Chinese goods from 10% to 25% was due to come into effect on 1 March.” However, now that advancements have been made in the trade war, this date is being delayed as the U.S. plans to have future summits. I believe that this is evidence for the trade war coming to an end, which will be very beneficial for both the U.S. and China. The trade war currently hurts them both as they supply each other with a large variety of goods. The trade war is also making it easier for other countries to reach the same level of modernization as the U.S., helping shift the world into a multi-polar system.
