Wanzhen Lu: Kidnapped Chinese student found unharmed

A Chinese student, Wanzhen Lu, aged 22, was allegedly kidnapped in Canada Saturday evening by an gang of masked men armed with stun-guns. The student however, was found unharmed Tuesday evening after showing up at a doorstep of a home in Gravenhurst Ontario, begging for help. Following this encounter, he was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries according to police. The twenty two year old was abducted in an underground car park in Markham, north of Toronto. A man, 35, who’s identity has not been released, was arrested for Lu’s abduction but was later released, and the police did not press charges. A press conference was held on Tuesday, the day Lu was found, where York Regional Police spokesman Andy Pattenden said that there are currently four suspects being hunted in connections to Lu’s kidnapping who are still at large. Pattenden spoke out about the police’s concern’s over the suspects and their possible motives and danger they represent to the community. The York regional police’s investigations are “far from over”. The police have released the information regarding Lu’s abduction to the public, stating that he was grabbed after exiting a car with a female friend by a group of three to four men, masked, and armed about 111 miles outside of Toronto. The men were wearing dark hoods to mask their identities and tasered Lu before forcing him into the back of their car (black dodge caravan). Motive for the kidnapping has not yet been established, however Lu’s position as a business administration student at Yorkville University has his share of luxury vehicles including a Lamborghini and a Rolls Royce. This possibly could have represented a motive, however nothing at the scene was taken, and a ransom note was never released. The abduction, which was captured on CCTV was allegedly violent and brazen, however Lu and his female friend remained unharmed. There has yet to be any comment on how the Chinese government will respond to this story or whether they will aid in the investigation.
