The Japanese Diet just unanimously passed a bill on wednesday that states that people are obligated to make efforts in trying to obtain a covid-19 vaccination. The Japanese government will fully pay for all costs of the vaccination and will supply locations for people to go and receive the vaccination as smoothly as possible. If people develop any health problems or side effects from the vaccination the Japanese Government stated that they will fully pay for the treatment of the people affected. The Japanese Government also stated that it will also compensate drug companies for any damages they might have to pay. The First people to receive the vaccine will be the elderly, medical workers and then people with underlying health conditions.

I think this is a good idea and that the Japanese government have good intentions at heart but the possibilities of mandating a vaccine could go very poorly. If the Vaccine turns deadly hundreds of thousands of lives could be lost and they would be forced to get it. On the other hand if the vaccine works it could cure and save lives, it is a double edged sword. If the vaccine works well it will completely open up Japan again. Raising their consumption in the country by going into stores and being able to safely work and make money. Then there is the negative outlook that this could ruin the country and put them into an even deeper hole. If done right they could eliminate most of the risk by staggering the times people receive the vaccine to make sure that there are no major issues that could result in a loss of life.

I can tie this into what we are discussing by relating this to a realistic view. It is in the best interest for the Country of Japan to try and make sure this vaccine works. They would be perceiving their country and eliminating big danger. If the Vaccine works they would also be able to sell to other countries and make a large profit of off selling the vaccine. This could also be seen through a liberalist view as to say if Japan help another country then in retare that other country could help Japan with lower trading tariffs or better trade deals.
