The country of Luxembourg is China’s latest ally. The two countries have worked together many times in the past but now they are taking their relationship to the next level. China and Luxembourg look to strengthen their relationship even more by trading and continuing communication for both national and international issues. In 2022, China and Luxembourg will celebrate their 50th anniversary of a strong diplomatic relationship. The European Union is definitely not fond of China and are also probably questioning Luxembourg on their solid relationship with China. It will be interesting to see if the European Union will take an action to either disrupt their relationship or to even remove Luxembourg from the European Union.

I never knew that China and Luxembourg had such a strong relationship. Two totally different countries with different cultures, beliefs, and goals. China is a communist country with goals to be the number one World power, while Luxembourg is a small country with little power. It is a weird combination that really shouldn’t work, but has worked for 50 years now. However, if I was one of the leaders of the European Union I would have to give Luxembourg a warning. I would not want countries within the European Organization becoming strong allies with a communist country, especially China. This odd relationship should send signals to small countries that need help from bigger countries.

China and Luxembourg have two totally different forms of government. China uses communism and Luxembourg uses a form of democracy. The European Union is most likely surprised to see this relationship further. We don’t normally see a small, democratic country side with a World power communist country. It is an odd relationship that has worked out but China has also changed. In my opinion this is worrying for the United States. Some of our closest allies are in Europe and it is not good to see that a European nation turning against what most European nations believe in.
