U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi jinping will meet on november 16 during the APEC summit in Lima Peru, making their first in person decision since last year. They are planning to talk about resuming military communications, tackling the fentanyl crisis, and addressing risk associated with AI. Biden will also bring the his concerns over china’s support for russia in the ukraine war, unfair trade practices that impact american works, chinese cyberattacks on U.S. infrastructure, and military activities near the Taiwan and in the south china sea. This meeting is very significant because it could be the last before Trump takes over office and potentially leading to a tougher relationship with china.

This meeting seems like the very important in terms of diplomacy in navigating their complex and often contentious interactions. Tackling issues that are affecting the American people, well also trying to have a strict talk to say that being involved with the Russia and Ukraine war is a bad idea and could potentially raise tensions between the countries. Urging China not to take over Ukraine because of the vow that Trump has given to end that war the day he gets into office. It’s also the last time they will talk before the end of Bidens presidency and Trump’s view on how to handle China is very different. Most things that they diffuse are not very valid once Trump takes the chair of the president.

Peace is only a thing at this time because of being scared of what the other nation could do. China fears getting hit back stronger if it upsets the United States. Especially well china is in an economic downtrend with a very slow way of uprising to what it once was. They have very similar ideas as Russia though making them strong together is dangerous to our country but they still don’t compare to the United States. In terms of being a global police, there is no other country than the United States that can hold that job because of the severe military spending, Bases around the world, and geographical location.
