New law changes the child allowance in Japan

This article discusses the planned revision to the child allowance laws in Japan. The current system is based on the income of the highest income earner, the new plan bases it off of the household’s total income. This helps ensure that the child allowances are going to people who need it under this fairer system.

I think that this will help distribute the money the government has to give for allowances to families who really need it. While this does make it so that people who earn over 15 million yen or more, it will allow for extra money to give to those more in need.
