This article goes into depth about the intentions of Trump and the US trying to work together with Russia to end the war sending a diplomatic envoy to Moscow for talks. The US envoy led by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner did not reach a conclusion to the war but they did raise the possibility that more three way talks could be resumed. With Putin telling Trump what the US could do to end the conflict stressing the importance of restoring relations between the US and Russia. They also worked through to continue the prisoner exchanges, and the RUssians reinforced the facts that they had no hostile intentions when it came to Europe. This means a lot for the region if America can broker peace between these two warring countries it would mean a stop of Russian influence spreading westward. Because of these diplomatic talks Russia gave a 3 day ceasefire in bombarding Kiev, and not only that both sides viewed the talks as positive which means they are closer in deciding a conclusion to the conflict. Since America is taking over talks between the 2 countries it expands our power over the region and gives us the power to decide the future of Ukraine and eastern Europe. This a good step forward for Ukraine and shows that both sides are willing to come together even though they previously have disagreed with each other
There are a lot of stakeholders that are influenced by this event like , European States, Ukraine, America, Russia and MNCs and IGOs. European Sates especially states that border Ukraine would feel more reassurance and wouldn’t feel the need to higher their defense budgets, or to keep sending military aid. If peace could be reached it means that multi-State corporations would see economic opportunity in the region and invest money and resources into the area. With peace also comes profitability because now all these organizations and companies would flood to Ukraine to rebuild it and take its natural resources that would be freed up. These new peace talks could also mean Ukraine is closer to joining Nato, or the EU which they have been wanting to do for decades.
