The middle east has been the hotbed for conflict in the late 20th century, and the early 21st century. every country is experiencing problems, even gulf countries, like Qatar. The GCC ( Gulf cooperation council) is currently boycotting Qatar and has placed multiple sanctions on the gulf state. The reason for these sanctions are the ties that Qatar has to terrorism, an to Iran. one of their major problems, is that they rely heavily on food imports. Iran, and turkey, have helped alleviate the affects by sending food, with now the other gulf states thing even more that Qatar has ties to Iran. Turkey and Iran have not always been historic friends, but with both countries giving aid to Qatar, and both taking action against the Kurdish referendum, they might become new allies. even thought it will most likely not happen, due to Turkey being Sunni, and Iran being Shiite, and the ties turkey has with western organizations like NATO and potentially the EU. Qatar, being a former member of the GCC, has asked for diplomatic aid from the united states. The Saudis want this to remain in the hands of the Arab peninsula countries, and not in control of foreign countries.
