President Trump announced on Wednesday that his administration is making a radical break with nearly 70 years of official United States policy and with the international community. He was recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. “I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,” Trump said. “While previous presidents have made this a major campaign promise, they failed to deliver. Today, I am delivering. My announcement today marks the beginning of a new approach to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.”
In my opinion, trumps action provoked negativity and criticism from US allies, and a bad reaction from Palestinian leaders and the Muslim world. This action mainly disturbed the peace mostly in the middle east and could also possibly fuel terrorism.
