The on going Syrian War is getting worse in Eastern Ghouta and civilians are distraught that Western Countries aren’t doing more to stop the violence. Even the 5-hour cease fire has done more harm than good. Air raids and other violent acts are still happening within these hours, killing more civilians and not allowing aid to get in and medics to get out of the area. With many countries involved, some experts have raised the question of the Syrian War progressing into World War III. Although many countries have interest in the area, I don’t think it will become a world war. It is mostly condensed in the Middle East and it is over oil, which the world seems to be moving away from. Also, the world is no longer like it was in the past. Nuclear Warfare is very prevalent and would be the result of another world war which no country wants. No matter how much interest countries have in Syria and the Middle East, I would hope that it doesn’t out weigh interest in the human race. I don’t see another world war happening in my life time due to globalization, the interwoveness of all countries, and nuclear weapons.
