The first article I read was about Egypt and their yellow vests. Egypt is stressing about all the uprisings that are going on in France. Frances yellow vest protests are now putting tension on Egypt’s government. Egypt is scared that their citizens are going to have another uprising on the anniversary of their last one that took place eight years ago on January 25, 2011. As a result, they have stopped selling yellow jacket vests in all stores. Store owners have had to sign something saying that they won’t sell the vests for the time being until the end of January. One storekeeper said, “Anyone who sells a single vest will put himself in big trouble.” this means there will be definite consequences if you are found selling these vests.
The next article I read was about the Syrian refugees. 90,000 refugees have returned back to their home of Syria after having fled out into neighboring countries the past couple of years. Many that are still living in refugee camps are saying that, “government shellfire had obliterated his hometown, saying it was too dangerous to return to Syria while Bashar al-Assad remains president.” most people are trying their best to return home and live a somewhat normal life of how they used to, but for many that is not an option. Most refugees homes are left in disrepair or even destroyed. So if they return back to Syria, again they would be left to restart again. One refugee that the article had written about has decided to return back home. Right now he is living in Lebanon but is facing a large fine because his residence permit has expired. The Lebanon government told him that if he went back to Syria that he would no longer need to pay the fine so in turn that is what he is doing. Overall this situation is extremely difficult and a horrible thing to be stuck in.
