The first article I read was about the world worst outbreak of cholera that’s been happening in Yemen. All the disease is happening in the war-torn area from the Saudi vs Iran war. They have destroyed Yemen’s healthcare system and their sanitation throughout the country. Over 1.2 million people have been affected by cholera. That is absolutely insane! 2,515 people have died so far since 2017 when this whole thing started from the war. All these people are dying because they don’t have access to clean water is so heartbreaking. We take clean water for granted so easily because it’s been something that we have no problems with. The World Health Organization said that the number of people being exposed has been on the rise again and is up to 10,000 people getting sick per week.
The second article I read was about a show I had just watched. A show on Netflix, “Patriot Act” hosted by Hasan Minhaj was banned in Saudi Arabia because of all the controversy and exposure that Hasan had put on Saudi Arabia. He starts out the show talking about the American reported that was killed recently there and then goes on to expose how corrupt the Saudi Arabian government is and how MBS their leader is not a good guy but when he does something a little bit humane, like grant women the right to drive he gets praised all around the world, especially in America. MBS has also been making trips around the US to turn its economy away from an extremely oil-based economy and branch out more. Hasan was very critical about the Saudi Arabian government but as comedy and criticism on government, it shouldn’t have been banned. All of his points were very valid and he has the right to educate the people that live there.
