After being charged for three corruption cases, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has received the amended indictment of his charges from the Israeli prosecutors. He is being accused of fraud, breach of trust, and the acceptance of bribes, some of these allegations including the Walla news site. There are accusations made by the prosecutors that there are 315 different accounts of the Prime Minister or those who work with him reaching out to Walla to get more positive news coverage for himself and his family. Some of the stories that he was persuading them to publish also showed many of his rivals in a very negative light, making it easier for Netanyahu to be re-elected. Despite Walla admitting to some of these claims, Prime Minister Netanyahu still denies all of the allegations and claims that it is an orchestrated attempt against him made my all parties involved.
This level of corruption through the media can be dangerous for the public because they are unable to learn the whole truth about their leader. Also now that this information is publicized, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has probably lost a lot of trust from his supporters which will be extremely hard to regain if he is not found guilty of these charges. However, with all the evidence compiled from talking to the news company, it seems almost impossible for them to find him not guilty. I believe that once his trial is over, Israel will need to find a new Prime Minister and find a way to prevent a situation like this from happening again. Future prevention will bring back more trust from the public.
In relation to class, Prime Minister George Netanyahu is acting in a way to bring himself more power by the means of a corrupt version of rational persuasion through the use of the media. He is influencing the people of Israel to support him with the persuasion of articles that are against his predecessors.
