Economic frustration is rampant in Tunisia, with many young people unemployed, they are taking to the streets to protest the economic problems their President, Kais Saeid, promised to solve.

The protesters are growing in number, vandalizing, and physically clashing with police. Mostly by throwing rocks and bricks at buildings and police. Tear gas has been used on them, reminiscent of the BLM protests in America.

The terrible economy can be attributed as the cause of these protests with ⅓ of the population being unemployed, and ⅕ living under the poverty line. The pandemic has not made matters any worse, as Tunisia relies heavily on their tourist industry, which has been shut down with travel bans.

These protests, while becoming violent, make a lot of sense. I hope that this will help bring attention to their economic problems and possibly bring other countries into help them as well. I think that some coronavirus help from other countries can help Tunisia repair their economy by making it safer to travel there so they could jump start their tourism industry. This could also help create some more jobs for people working in the industry as well as assisting in vaccination distribution throughout the country.
