On September 23, 2021 Israeli soldiers started to march on palistinian towns. The Israeli soldiers are demolishing and ransacking homes. More than 1,500 Palistinian people are currently in fear of home invasion and destruction. They have been taking bulldozers and started to knock over people’s homes. They have been specifically targeting human rights activists that have been protesting against Israel. The Palistinians already have it hard with building homes because the government of Israel has been holding onto and denying building permits for Palestinians. One person told their story saying that he and many others have been traumatized. Many Palestinians have been critically injured in the destruction of their houses.
This is very important because this is making tensions rise between the Palesinians and the Israeli government. This could result in a major push back against the government because of the long conflict that there has been between these two groups of people. Both groups say they have claim to the land and neither of them want the other ones living on it. With this push of literally wrecking peoples homes to try to get them to leave theres no way the Palestinian people will let this go. This could be the start of much more violence from the Palestinians.
This relates to international relations because it is a nation-state almost bullying a nation of people. As we have talked about in class there is a long history between the Palestinians and the Israelis. The Palestinians believe that they should govern that land because it is the home land of their religion. But also the Israelis are the current nation governing that land. Like we talked about in class with the Kurds, states and governing bodies don’t like to just give up the land that they have control over because the more land that you have the more people can live on it and therefore the more money you make.
