Israel is wanting the rest of the world to not lift the sanctions that they have imposed on Iran. They believe that the nuclear deal that Iran is currently working on making to get rid of the sanctions will not do anything to hinder the Iranian nuclear program. Instead the Iranian government is using the nuclear talks as a way to get money. The Israeli Foreign Minister has said “ a nuclear Iran will thrust the entire Middle East into a nuclear arms race; we will fid ourselves in a new Cold War. But this time the bomb will be in the hands of religious fanatics who are engaged in terrorism as a way of life”.
Israel is of course very worried by the fact that Iran would be gaining power of any kind be that through their nuclear program or through economic gains. This is due to the fact that Israel and Iran hate each other. Iran provides funding and other resources to terrorists that attempt to destabilize Israel and have Palestine take over. While Israel allies themselves with countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United States which limit the power that Iran can become.This makes it so that when Iran is attempting to make a deal to limit their nuclear program in return for getting rid of the sanctions it angers the Israelis because it makes it so their enemy is gaining power.
The relationship between Israel and Iran has always been full of conflict in an area of the world that is in a constant state of turmoil. Israel is worried that if the economic sanctions upon their enemy Iran are lifted then Iran will gain more economic power. With this new wealth Iran will have more money to spend to have a larger presence in the region. This is worrisome to Israel because in the past Iran has funded terrorists to take down Israel and with more money the Iranians may fund more terrorists in the region which may lead to the downfall of Israel.
