In Tehran Iran four people have been executed via hanging on sunday and three others were given prison sentences, according to the Judiciary website. The website also says that they were guided by Israeli intelligence when they engaged in destroying property, theft, kidnapping, and obtaining false confessions, which were led by a Mossad operative based in Sweden. According to the Judiciary, all the people involved had a history in crime. Both Iran and Israel are on bad terms, and Iran will occasionally detain people they think are working for foreign powers. The executions coincide with the ongoing two month long protests against the morality police and their dress code for women, and Iran pinning the blame for the unrest on the U.S, Israel, the U.K, France, Germany and Saudi Arabia of being behind the unrest, arresting 40 foreign nationalists sense september. All we can say for certain is that the arrests and executions have nothing to do with the riots according to the intelligence ministry.
This Article is important because it shows, in my opinion, how paranoid Iran is at the moment. It makes sense because firstly, they don’t trust their neighboring states, and secondly the fact that they are currently dealing with the stressful situation known as the riots. I think this event happened either because the Iraenian government was trying to spy on their neighboring state for security or political reasons or because they felt that making this up would garner support for their state over Israel. The whole reason that the two states seem to always be in conflict with one another is because of the Irainian Revolution. Because of the Revolution, Iran now views Israel as an illegitimate “Zionest regime” and has accused Israel of being friendly to Americans and hostels to Iranians.
Liberal theory is a theory that focuses on moral philosophy and the individual. With that in mind, Liberals would view this conflict in that the leader of Israel is to blame for the entirety of the conflict. This is because they also view Israel as an illegitimate state because of how the state was formed. On the other hand, constructivist theory is one that people can actively make their own knowledge, and that reality is made by your experiences as a learner, so from a Constructivist think that based on your knowledge/experiences one could have multiple views on the conflict.
