The Israeli military recently fired multiple times at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon(UNIFIL)headquarters in Lebanon, specifically targeting a guard tower at the base in Naqoura. The attack unfortunately injured 2 peacekeepers, increasing tensions in the already tense area, amidst the conflicts between Israel and Hezbollah. The UNIFIL has reported several concerning incidents involving Israeli military in southern Lebanon, one in which involved a drone flying directly towards the entrance of a UN bunker in Labbouleh.

Hezbollah said it targeted an Israeli tank with missiles, before attacking an Israeli force with a missile salvo, while the force was trying to pull injured soldiers out of the area. “The shooting at the UNIFIL headquarters and other incidents are not tolerable, and must be carefully avoided.” Italy’s defense minister Guido Crosetto said about the incident. The UNIFIL called for a ceasefire since an escalation between Israel and Hezbollah because of a incident where Israeli soldiers were firing and disabling monitoring cameras.
