On November 7th, Israel signed a deal to acquire 25 F-15 fighter jet’s that was apart of an aid package from the United States earlier this year. The aid package gave Israel 5.2 billion dollars to buy 25 F-15’s from Boeing on behalf of the United States. Although the fighter jet’s won’t be delivered until 2031, they will be delivered to Israel slowly as they will only receive 4-6 of the F-15’s every year. The F-15’s will be upgraded with advanced weapon system and is designed to have larger payloads being able to carry more bombs while having a longer range. Israel said the F-15’s is an historic enhancement to its airpower and strategic reach and its capabilities are crucial as it’s shown in the war against Hamas.
I think this is a crucial step towards Israel being dominant in the region as they do seek to gain control of the region to increase stability. Being such a close ally with the United States this is a good deal as it allows the democracy to protect itself. This will have major disruptions within the region as it allows Israel to have more power and they are able to have the power to attack its neighboring nations. The lasting impacts from the deal will be for a long time as the F-15’s are super advanced and no country that is enemies with Israel has the capabilities to fight against them and Israel will dominate the region for the near future.
The options in this situation are most likely going to benefit Israel since the US is allies with Israel. Israel will most likely try to gain more of the F-15’s and other advanced weapons from the United States. The United States might block more request for the weapons but most likely isn’t but with the Trump presidency it might be Israel’s last chance to get the weapons. With the Israli’s being a more offensive realism perspective country, they tend to try and project it’s power by fighting with other countries and trying to gain control of the region. They want control over the region as Hama’s is currently occupied within Israel and the stability within Israel isn’t very safe. The view of Israel with being dominant and having power is that it will come with safety and security. Israel is trying to climb to the top of the throne within the region and maintain that status quo of being the strongest. Although Hezbollah and the Palestinians has been making it hard for Israel to maintain peace.
