This article discusses an update to the growing conflict between Iran and the joint forces of the United States and Israel. This update began with discussing a statement made by the defense minister for Israel. He made a statement saying that Israel planned to intensify their strikes against Iran if they did not end their returning missile strikes against Israel. The defense minister has also threatened to expand this to wider sectors in the middle east in order to assert more outwardly their military power and development. However some opposition leaders have stated they don’t feel Israel can maintain the conflict due to lack of resources and strategy.

This article serves to be an important update on the conflict and give insight into the perspectives of the main powerholders within the conflict. I think that this is an example of how this conflict is likely to progress given that it seems the Israeli leaders are quite interested in putting forth lots of resources in order to get their goal outcome from the conflict with Iran. I do wonder what their specific goal is for this conflict if any or if rather this is simply based on working with the United States to prevent them from developing a nuclear weapon.

In this specific case the primary stakeholders are Israel, Iran, and the United States with the main two being the first two. First, Israel’s plan of action would most likely be to follow through with their plan and actually continue to bomb Iran and expand their strikes in order to assert dominance. However, for Iran they really have distinct options, they can either continue to fight with Israel and hope they have better resources and strategy, or they can offer an agreement to prevent the conflict from escalating any further.

The primary concepts from class that this connects too would be of course peace and conflict but also power. So first this conflict is not based alone on the idea that Iran is looking to have nuclear weapon capabilities but rather its based more long term which is where it begins to coincide with regional and global power. Regionally Israel is looking to gain more power which includes bolstering their own strength but also knocking lower the other regional powers which is why they have taken this opportunity from the United States to take down the power of Iran which makes them more powerful.
