This article discussed the nearly complete ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. Though this draft wouldn’t come to fruition. It mainly focused on the exchange of the remaining hostages held by Hamas. it is imperative that Israel is able to gain these citizens freedom as well as ending the ongoing conflict in this city. Though the terms may not be satisfactory to the Israeli state as a prisoner exchange is expected between the two forces for 5 Israel service women for 30 or so known Hamas member who are currently serving life sentences.
To analyze these foreign negotiations all factor must be considered including the fact that even if this agreement went through the fighting would just be delayed and not end permanently. This specific conflict against the existence of the israeli state is will prevail well into the rest of this century at least until one of these ideals compromise or the total subjugation and eradication of the opposing military forces happens. The only clear response is if one side takes the massive advantage and does start committing ethnic and religious cleansings that the US and global communities will intervene to stop the fighting.
Personally I do not think that this agreement had any real chance of going through with how Israel has been posturing no tolerance for any Hamas presence inside of Gaza. Though Israel having a hard line stance is not completely possible if they begin to lose the support of the IDF internally to wage this “defensive” war. This fact on top of the increased warryness in backing Israel from western country Israel needs to keep their western allies happy. Hamas also doesn’t seem like its in a position to give up as they are gaining support in the uneducated west who see these terrorists as freedom fighters.
