Out of the four articles I chose, the most interesting one was the article called “India wants to contain tensions with Pakistan, focus on economy.” I feel this article is very interesting since it kind of goes with our past lesson on how many nations will act based on the self interest of their nation and not on the interest as a whole for all nations. Despite all the conflict that is going on between India and Pakistan, India wants to now lessen the tensions between the two nations since it finds to benefit in starting another war with Pakistan; it seems Pakistan sames the same view based on the fact that it has not acted on the supposed Indian attacks past the border the Line of Control separating the two nations in the controlled area of Kashmir. Despite this sense of agreement on not wanting to start a new war, many of the citizens of these nations fear that a war will start between these two nations mainly due to growing tensions from the disagreement on who should control Kashmir. Much like the other nations in the Middle East, Southern and Central Asia the fact that many of the drawn borders not actually being based on the groups of people who identify with the same cultural or religious group, the tensions between all these nations only seems to be growing. Just between India and Pakistan, there have been attacks on the other nation’s part of Kashmir and both countries deny to raising arms across the border separating the two parts of Kashmir. I feel that a war might be inevitable since there is already so much tension between these nations and with these attacks it will only grow until the nations get fed up with each other, despite their attempts to avoid war since it would not benefit either country.
