India’s future is currently looking very bleak because of enormous problems from population growth, environmental issues, and women’s rights being ignored. The root of all India’s problems is there rapid population growth. Without a solution to the population increasing, numerous problems will fall closely behind. India’s vast population means that even the smallest increase in emissions per person adds up to a huge amount of carbon dioxide. Research shows that India is likely to become the world’s biggest polluter. Because India is developing quickly to keep up with its growing population, there is the ever-present threat of it affecting the environment. If India can drive down the cost of more efficient energy, the world will benefit. If more fuel efficient means were cheaper than the alternative pollutant, coal, developing countries would be able to skip a “polluting fossil fuel phase”. If solutions to population growth and the environment in India are not implemented in the near future, the world will have to face the consequences.
