In countries not as developed as the United States, laws against slavery aren’t enforced or just don’t exist. Women and children are still being trafficked for profit and used as slaves. For some, this industry is a huge portion of the economy. Without steady jobs most people will look to a shady way to make money whether it be human trafficking, selling drugs, the list goes on and on. This industry isn’t cheap either. Some children, women, and men in some cases are sold for 50,000 in american dollars. For a society to willingly deny the rights of women just furthers the equality all over the world. In this region, the rights of women are improving, but this industry sets it back. Human trafficking and slavery is terrible for undeveloped countries. With the mistreatment of women, population decreases, the overall amount of children decreases, and the overall idea of pregnancy would most likely be stopped. Children from the ages 10-15 are constantly put into exhausting and dangerous labor for their age. If these mothers decide to have children, even if they wanted to support them and care to them, what money would they be able to care for them with? Most of the slave labor and work these women and children do is free. They have no wage, this is why the industry is so lucrative.
