Have you noticed how ISIS hasn’t been in the news lately? That’s because the once large terrorist organization has lost large amounts of territory in Iraq and Syria. And while there are still thousands of sympathizers, agents, and sleeper cells around the world, the organization no longer has the ability to push for their radical caliphate in the Middle East. From their rise during the mid 2000s and President Obama labeling them as the “JV Team”, the terrorist state was able to grow in the Middle East and gain thousands of allies throughout South and Central Asia. The mismanagement of the US military during the past 8 years ensured that ISIS would have room to grow while terrorist attacks abroad distracted from their true goal. Now, almost a year into the Trump administration, ISIS is not being seen in the news as much. Why? Because the military was given the ability to fight the war they needed in order to defeat the evil organization, rather than take orders from Washington desk jockeys and bureaucrats. The military has overwhelmed ISIS and taken most of their previous land. While terrorist attacks claimed by the group will continue to happen across the Earth, ISIS itself will no longer have the ability to grow to their once mighty self.
