America is not the only country where women are feeling mistreated. In India, a doctor and socialist Swetha Shetty, has started an all woman party. Main issues that the party is fighting for is reservation for women in spots of parliament, and the mistreatment of women in the workplace. The target audience of the party is the underprivileged women who have experienced domestic abuse and the women who have been mistreated in the workplace. The party came to fruition in 2012 which is when it became a project by Swetha Shetty. Shetty says that in 2018 women’s rights are still avoided easily and she wants the party to bring attention to the sexism against women. Another goal is to 50% reservation for women candidates in Lok Sabha Election.
I believe this party needed to be made. This is because if women’s rights are still being avoided and danced around in 2018 then the government is not providing all citizens with equal opportunities. Also women deserve to be heard and in India this is the only option for women. I think the government needs to pay close attention to the party and what the women have to say, and try to come up with new ways to make women feel like they are being heard. Also they need to make regulations for when women are mistreated in the workplace or when they are domestic abused, this is because no one should have to feel in danger at their home or in the workplace.
