Nepal is changing its guidelines on letting tourists into the country for mountaineering activities. In order to even start the process you have to have an entry visa and you have to prove that you have at least 5,000 dollars in insurance. After this then you will have to take a covid-19 test and test negative, the test has to be within 72 hours of you leaving for Nepal. Once you reach Nepal you will then have to quarantine in your hotel for at least seven days. On the 5th day you will have to pay for your own PCR test and only if you test negative can you continue with your trip. If you test positive. You will have to wait in the hotel until you are testing negative. The ministry also stated that the mountaineering agency has to ensure travelers from Nepal will not receive Covid-19 for a price of 1,365 dollars or 100,000 Indian Rupees.

This is good for the country of Nepal, a very large amount of their income comes from tourism. So when Covid-19 hit they really struggled financially for those months because there were no tourists coming in. Everyone was afraid to get on airplanes or trains to travel so it isolated a large part of their income. That is why even with the 74,745 causes and 481 deaths from Covid-19 it is still worth the risk. Otherwise they could be in a much worse situation by their country either suffering from starvation because they can’t get food or an economic hole they would not be able to get out of for the foreseeable future. So in my opinion even with the facing danger they are taking enough percousens that it should not elevate the Covid-19 causes by a large amount and they will start to gain their tourist income again. They are making a calculated decision that will be backed up by lots of testing and procedures.
