India and china are currently having a border dispute over the area surrounding the Pangong lake. Chain keeps pressing borders further and further into Indian territory. When China leaves India does the same. so in an action to try and defuse the tension that is rising in the area. They have both agreed to make the mountain range surrounding the lake a no-man’s zone. With the upcoming winter they have both agreed it would be too hard to keep troops stationed there, so they have decided that they should leave the area so no military should do potroles or set up outposts.

There has been a history of skirmishes and brief fights in the area. With rising tensions between India and China I think it is best that we do whatever we can to try and deescalate the situation that is growing. It is unlikely that a full conflict will erupt from this dispute but with the addition of other problems it is still a possibility. If India and China break out into a full conflict it can be disastrous for the surrounding countries that would be pulled into the conflict. I think we should be focusing more on how we should keep this small dispute from becoming something bigger and getting out of hand.

From a realist view China is showing India it military power and disregarding what India thinks. China is doing what China wants to do and India is trying to come to a peaceful end. I would assume the only reason China isn’t taking over by force is that India Has allies and China has never historically had a Strong military. So China will try and do this is an economical field where they hold more power.
