This article is about how India has reopened to fully vaccinated foreign tourists travelling on chartered flights in the latest easing of its coronavirus restrictions as infection numbers decline. Foreign tourists on regular flights will be able to enter India starting from November 15 with very few restrictions. The restrictions are be fully vaccinated or test negative for the virus within 72 hours of their flight. The decision was announced as the country’s daily infections have dropped below 20,000 people from a peak of 400,000 people in May and more people have been vaccinated each day. India has done a really good job of administering the vaccine as more than 970 million vaccine doses have been given out. Nearly 70 percent of the eligible adult population has had at least one dose. This is very surprising because the population of India is so high.

This is important because India get a good source of their revenue and income from tourist. Last year lewer than three million foreign tourists visited India in 2020, which was a dip of more than 75 percent as compared with 2019. Travel and Tourism was the largest service industry in India was worth $234 bn in 2019. The industry has become one of the largest Foreign Exchange Earners in India however in 2020 it was has low as $29.962 billion dollars.. There are some concerns from foreign countries that see the India is reopening and don’t know if they are ready. The big concern with other countries is they don’t want another large spike in Covid cases.

This is connect what we have been learning in class with India, who is allied with the United States they want to try to grow more and more economically as they want other countries to consider them as world top powers. Indian officials think they have done a good job with spread of Covid 19 and think it’s time to start letting other people from other countries in more freely as they think this will cause a great increase in there economy. There is still some concern however that easing the restrictions on foreign tourists visiting India will coincide with the country’s domestic tourist and festive season.
