Iraq has sent its first shipment of medical aid to Lebanon following an Israeli cyberattack on pager devices used by Hezbollah members. A group of shiite Muslim political and militant groups based in lebanon. The attack caused the explosion of these devices injuring over 2,500 Hezbollah members and killing nine people including some under the age of 10. Iraq has dispatched medical help to assist the injured. Israel reportedly implanted explosives in the Taiwanese-made pager before they were shipped into Lebanon with Hezbollah vowing to take action in response to the cyber attack.

This incident shows the impact of cyber warfare. With Israel’s attack on Hezbollah highlighting the evolving nature in modern conflicts and changing how one nation will respond to such attacks. The global response including Iraq’s aid to Lebanon reflects a broader pattern of regional unity and mutual support. Well also trying to improve the well being of their populations. Hezbollah’s vow to respond to this action against Lebanon which will increase regional instability which could affect international negotiations and security of these countries. This situation shows how one state’s action can affect everyone else even across borders.

Now that Hezbollah will have the concerns of technology. How will they react to using any sort of technology not knowing if it might be planted with a bomb? The world now knows who the Hezbollah actors are, they cannot hide in the regular population as they have because of the pagers that are blowing up. This strike is more of a massive head game that is stewing up the region. There’s pressure for Iran to help Hezbollah supported by Russia while the United states is supporting it to stay out of it. Building up a much more global threat to war.
