This article discussed the return of Lebanese families to southern Lebanon after the agreement of a ceasefire between Israel-Hezbollah holds. During the conflict, over 20,000 Lebanese were forced to seek refuge in Iraq to avoid the ongoing conflict. With the ceasefire being brokered by the US and France, many of those people who were displaced were finally able to return back home. It is estimated that over 800 people were leaving Iraq to go back to Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, each week. However not all of the displaced were excited to return home because some of them were worried that their house would be destroyed when they returned home.

This article is important because it discusses the impact that the Israel-Hezbollah conflict has had on human life. It also shed some light on the challenges that the displaced families had to face such as the widespread destruction of houses, the uncertain future for children, and the lack of basic services. It also discussed the ceasefire that was brokered by the United States and the support that has been provided by Iran and provides insight in the rebuilding efforts and stability in areas that experienced the conflict. It also shows the emotional complexity that these refugees have to experience because of the risks of returning home to a potentially better country.

The two main stakeholders that are involved in this event are the Displaced Lebanese Families and the Lebanese Government. The Lebanese that have been directly affected by the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah and forced to flee their homes in Southern Lebanon, face uncertainty because they don’t know what the condition of their house back home and how easily they could get access to basic services. The Lebanese government will also play a critical role in allowing the Displaced Lebanese families to have a safe return back home and will also be responsible for providing support towards rebuilding the houses that were destroyed by the conflict.

Two of the main topics that were discussed in the article were Displacement and Refugee Movement and Ceasefire and Peace Negotiation. The Ceasefire is probably more important because the conflict has come to an end and with the United States and France backing the Ceasefire, it would most likely hold. Also the Ceasefire has allowed the displaces families to return back home to Lebanon. With the movement of the Lebanese over the boarders has highlighted the cost of human life in conflicts and the difficulty and challenges that the refuges have to face when they return home if they decide that they want to.
