Thousands in Nepal are now demanding that the monarchy be reinstated as their form of government. Back in 2002 there was a change in government that made the country into a monarchy, but later in 2008 it was abolished. Since then Nepal has had 13 different governments, and only now the people of Nepal demand that the monarchy be reinstated and that hinduism be the main religion of the country now. There are also supports that were against the monarchy when it first came to power, but now many have changed sides. It is estimated to be about 10,000 people and each one tend to chant, “Vacate the royal palace for the king. Come back king, save the country. Long live our beloved king. We want monarchy.”
I don’t think another government change will help Nepal and many that even changed their minds are open to changing them again. Obviously no matter what Nepal has done the people have been unhappy in some sort of way. If your people are gonna be unhappy then best thing to do is to stick to something. But I understand that may be hard due to rioting and overthrowing the government, etc. I personally don’t see how another government change will help anything thought but that is also just my opinion. I also think the chances of the main religion be changed to hinduism is not likely either.
I do wonder how the other citizens of Nepal are feeling about this. Im sure there have been broken out fights about this, but overall the country might be in rage right now. I mean it is hard when the government doesn’t settle down on one thing and the constant changing can’t be good either. The economy hasn’t been good, but a lot of economies have been struggling still due to COVID but there is just a lot of anxiety because when you are assured things will get better, then many will ask “when.” I mean I feel as if that is why in america that many feel that the economy wasn’t well and they will tend to vote for the other party due to wanting change.
This reminds me of when we looked at a map that showcased how authoritarian or democratic a country is, it makes me wonder how much Nepal changes on that scale. And maybe it cause I live in a democratic country myself, but I don’t understand why you would want to choose a more authoritarian government. Through a monarchy, the heir might be a sucky ruler and your country may down to dookie. I mean it has been evident that communism is not a great government system due to how it can’t build a stable economy, monarchy is not the same but still more authoritarian than democratic. So it makes me wonder if their economy would really be better under another monarchy.
