Part of Theresa May’s wider security pact with African nations is that the UK will establish cyber centers focusing on countering peopdofiles from overseas. The prime minister stated: “Online child exploitation is an abhorrent crime and we are determined to ensure there is no place to hide for predators who use the internet to share images of abuse across borders, too often with impunity.” There have been two men from the UK in the past couple of years have been arrested for sexually abusing young children. The problem is larger than it sounds and most criminals get away. The new cyber centers will be added to Kenya’s Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit set up by UK’s National Crime Agency. The addition of this cyber center will help improve the already great Child Protection Unit that has had 100 investigations, arrested 40 suspects, and helped protect over 400 children since 2016.The new help from the UK will help encourage Kenya to continue its counter terrorism efforts that help protect the UK.The Uk will also help train police to prevent crimes against women and children. These new instantiations are going to help make sure criminals are brought to justice. A major issue standing in the Kenyan’s way is the fact that they do not receive reports of child sex abuse from US tech firms because of the fact that the secure channels to do so are nonexistent in the country. The new relationship developed between the UK and Kenya will greatly help both countries greatly and benefit each other more than each of the countries on their own.
