The Isolation of High Profile Criminals

Recently, the Honduran government  has begun to transfer more dangerous criminals to higher security prisons in efforts to regain control of the prisons rather than the convicts being the ones in control. By separating these more violent and powerful prisoners and isolating them into their own prisons and into their own cells, the Honduran government will be able to eliminate the possibility of said prisoners taking advantage of the correctional system and conducting crime business. Essentially, transferring these convicts will end their contact with the outside world and therefore, their ability to conduct illegal activities from within the confines of jail.

Honduras has one of the higher rates of criminal activity in the world, which is included but not limited to gang activity and drug trafficking. These illegal activities contribute to Honduras having the highest murder rate in the world, mostly due to gang violence. It is quite possible that, as a part of their plan to break up gangs and organized crime, the Honduran government purposefully meant to cut off their leaders and bosses in order to make the businesses and organizations suffer without leadership. Time will soon tell if these gangs and organized crime families will dwindle without someone to lead them.

By isolating the different branches of gangs and organized crime, not only is the Honduran government able to regain control of their prisons but now they can begin taking back their country. If this plan begins to impact the number of criminals conducting business in Honduras, the amount of violence will begin to diminish, and therefore the Honduran government will have succeeded in their goal.
