US wants to intervene militarily in Venezuela (analysis)

“Donald Trump should swallow his own words of war and hate,” said Nicolas Maduro in a rally with many Venezuelan citizens. This comes as the U.S has said that it wants to intervene militarily in the country. The Maduro administration has been saying that the US has been making up a humanitarian crisis as an excuse for them to militarily intervene. The country’s president of Constituent Assembly, Delcy Rodrigues, said that more than 8 million children receive food, as she responded to a reporter who said that 300,000 are at risk of dying from hunger. Rodriguez also said that the country rejected help from the UN because it would’ve led to military intervention, what the US is trying to do. She said the best way to help the country is to lift sanctions in order to finance its debt. The country has 60 billion dollars in bonds. To make things worse, the EU approved sanctions to limit the country of arms deals, a system to freeze assets, and new travel restrictions on its government officials. This system will most likely make it worse for the country, bringing no hope for their citizens.
