Ecuador: Public Transport Safety, How to avoid a kidnap express

The article is about how to avoid getting kidnapped while travelling home or to work. It also includes how to avoid getting kidnapped and other ways to travel safely. The article does include that these are not normal kidnappings, they are short-term, opportunistic kidnappings and they are only aimed at taking money of the victim. It includes that victims can targeted randomly and they are held while the kidnappers empty their bank account using stolen cash cards and they take the money they are carrying. This kidnappings do not only occur on trains but they can also occur in taxis. The criminals use unregistered taxis to draw in their victims. The world should be concerned because Latin America is developing country and the more powerful countries need to see that this is a major issue and there needs to be more of an enforcement in the areas of the crimes. And the word needs to be spread more and needs to have more attention. The fact that people have to worry just how they are going to get home or go to work is worrying some. People in the US or in any other developed countries don’t have this overhanging idea of getting kidnapped on their way home just because they are carrying money. And they need to be doing more than just spreading the word to just take a taxi and what a real one looks like, instead they should be enforcing and having more protection at the stations because some people cannot afford to take a taxi because some people may have to travel farther than people who normally take a taxi. This is only one issue out of many that Latin America is struggling with and it shows that we, as a major, and developed country need to do more than what is being done now to help underdeveloped countries.
