Summary: The article talks about the thousands and thousands of migrants attempting to leave mexico, South and Central America. The crime rates have upped and many don’t feel safe raising their families there. Along with the unsafe environment they feel that the income they currently make is not enough to make a living off of. There reason for leaving to go to America is that they hope to find better opportunities, to become financially stable, and to be able to live off the income they may make in the United States. Many of the migrants didn’t have homes and would spend restless nights on the street, no matter whether conditions. These people, while trekking, have been stopped by the Mexican police who are trying to prevent the migrants from walking along major highways. It also speaks about the influx of migrants from Trump’s Presidency compared to Bidens Presidency.

Analysis: The article gives us a graph to look at. It shows the influx of migrants during the term of the two Presidencies. I don’t know where I stand in this situation. Given that my parents are immigrants, I can relate to the individuals who are attempting to overcome obstacles and seize new chances. Even though there are differences between legal and illegal immigration, I’m not sure what I would do if I were experiencing the same difficulties as others that are trying to leave their country and enter the U.S. i recognize the necessity and desire to leave due to the rise of organized crime. I frequently visit Pakitan, and we usually visit my parents home village that is not the safest place. The high crimes rates are a frightening. Its really difficult to live and work in those conditions and I was only there for a month and it was difficult and draining to watch people struggle that much.

Connection to class: This connects to the class due us talking about the relationships created between two countries and how the two parties see differently. Along with it relating to IR it also relates to what we talk about in government and kind of just puts things into perspective. What exactly do we do in order to control overpopulation but do it in a way where violence isn’t involved. This also highlights the relationship between the US and Mexico; peace and security are kept due the U.S being a world power and two countries sharing a border.
