An MS-13 leader has been arrested in Virginia following Donald Trumps aggressive crackdown on drug and cartels in the United States. Henrry Josue Villatoro Santos was arrested and was found with many weapons in his home during the arrest. He was living in the United States illegally and the gang has been on the uprising over the past few years. Trump has promised to crackdown on these illegal gangs to make the streets safer for kids and people living in the country. The Trump administration has designated MS-13 as a foreign terrorist organization and it’s part of Trumps national security policy to crack down on these illegal gangs ruining the nation. Members of the MS-13 gang live in various countries in south and central America.
The introduction of Donald Trumps aggressive crackdown on these gangs require lots of cordination not only within the United States but the countries that have the MS-13 gang. With Trumps already aggressive nature to force Mexico to add more troops to the border this would require even more than that. These gangs are here to stay and make money for years and years and without co-operation from the hosting nations they are going to continue to be these terrorist organizations that harm everyday Americans. It would require a lot of diplomacy with the nations and that would be unlikely to happen unless the Trump administration uses force through military or economic force like tariffs.
The ways this could go is that the countries are going to willingly co-operate with the United States to try and put a stop to the gangs or they refuse. In the case that happens the Trump administration would most likely threaten to put tariffs on them like how’s he’s already been doing with Mexico. Stopping the gangs entirely would be a super hard task to acheive without military intervention but it would stop the gangs significantly or atleast decrease who they are able to reach. The 2016 killings in NYC that happened as a result of the MS-13 gangs are morally unjust and inhumane. We have laws to keep order and the ones held countable are still roaming around even if the ones who did it are in jail, the ones above them are still free around the world. It violates the laws that we had codified and it threatens our national security a lot. We want to protect our people and these gangs threaten that by killing citizens and sending drugs in that help benefit them.
