Earlier this week a tiny plane crashed into the Northe East Bolivian jungle (a section of the Amazon Rainforest located in Bolivia). After hitting the ground the plane rolled over into a anaconda and alligator infested lagoon. On this plane there were five people, the pilot and four passengers, one of which being a six year old boy. Those five then spent the next 36 hours clinging to the planes wreckage waiting for help, which came to rescue them on Friday May 2. After the rescue a doctor treated the five patients and states that all were stable and that the only one who remained unconscious was the 6 year old’s 37 year old aunt who had a infectious gash in her head. The remaining passengers and pilotwere discharged after being treated for dehydration, minor chemical burns, infected cuts, bruises and insect bites all over their bodies. They survived thos 36 hours without attack; it was presumed that the stench of the aircrafts fuel warded off predators. The plane had stayed almost completely emerged and they stayed on top for twon nights witho9ut food or water before some fisherman in a canoe found them.
This story has uplifted the people of Bolivia, whom for the past years had been struggling with both political and economic turmoil/crisis. This whole situation just goes to show that events that bring unity don’t have to be political or economic. Hope can be found within a state from all sorts of things. This event can serve as a good reminder to countries currently struggling and feeling hopeless. It shows that sometimes all there people need is a little bit of encouragement, or in this case luck, to keep going. That a bright event can change peoples entire view, even if it is only momentarily.
