Money over morals. As many know Tigers are incredibly endangered animals, and in China zoos and tiger sanctuaries are thinking about starting to sell Tiger parts for profit, even though it was banned 25 years ago. Many are claiming it to be for medicine, linking it back to traditional Chinese medicine. Even though the benefits of tiger parts are easily replaced by other herbs. These pushes are from Tiger breeders that aren’t making enough money from the tigers, so many tigers are being farmed in captivity. It’s believed that there are only 40-50 wild tigers left in China, none of the tigers in captivity are being released into the wild. These beautiful creatures are being killed for selfish and greedy reasons. Lifting the trading ban is even supported by China’s state forestry and grassland administration, who would in theory want support the ban. If the ban does get lifted there will be huge and irreversible effects to tiger populations around China, and most likely world wide. This could also lead to other animal parts being traded once again, such as Rhinos. The care that states give to the environment is absolutely appalling. Major states are turning back on environmental decisions that would make a better impact on our world, such as America with the Paris Agreement. Major countries like these are really demonstrating what they find importance in. Actions like these set precedents for smaller countries, these places are going backwards instead of forwards. Once all these animals are gone there is going to be no way to bring them back, there is no way of knowing when people will finally realize they have gone too far. Seemingly all people want is money, giving no mind to the thousands of other creatures that inhabit this planet. With the world on this course there will be no way to stop global warming until it inevitably comes back around to us.
